Why I Do This

Two Problems, One Coach

I was becoming an advanced pickleball player at the same time I was becoming a chiropractor. Training in both left me seeing the same problem from two directions. I'd watch players' bodies break down on the court, and in the same session I'd see exactly why they were stuck at the amateur level. Sometimes it was one or the other. A lot of the time it was both, and neither side was getting fixed because nobody was looking at the whole picture.

That's the gap I coach into. When I work with you, I'm looking at the whole chain your body uses to move and hit, from your legs up through your hips, core, and arm, to find the actual link that's costing you power or consistency. Sometimes that's a technique fix. Sometimes it's a real physical limitation we work around together. Either way it's one person looking at the whole picture, not a regular lesson or a regular clinic visit.

How I Coach

Find the Leak First

Most players at 3.5 drill harder at the wrong thing. They take a lesson on the third shot drop when the real problem is that they're hitting a drop when the ball called for a drive, or they're already off balance before the ball gets there. So I don't start with a shot. I start by watching you play and finding the one pattern that costs you the most points. I call it your leak, and almost everyone has one big one, not ten small ones.

Then I teach the actual mechanic, fully. Not a tease, not a tip. If your third shot is the leak, you'll learn the read I use on every ball: how deep it is, how high it is, and whether it's on the line or off it, and what that combination tells you to hit. If your leak is the transition zone, you'll learn to read the other side's bodies instead of guessing when to move up. The mechanic is the same for everyone. What's specific to you is which one is holding you back, and that read is what I'm actually giving you.

Because I'm also a chiropractor, I notice the physical side of the leak while I'm coaching the technical side. A knee that won't load, hips that don't rotate, a shoulder that compensates. When that's in the way, we work on it directly instead of coaching around it forever.

Who I Work With

3.0 to 4.0 Players Who Are Stuck

The player I work with most is a 3.5 who has been a 3.5 for a while. Usually somewhere between 40 and 65, plays three or four times a week, has taken a lesson or two, and can't figure out why the rating won't move. In plain words: 3.5 is the intermediate rating, 4.0 and up is where people start calling you advanced, and I coach the intermediate player who is trying to get there. That plateau is a specific problem with a specific set of causes, and I've built my coaching around it. If that's you, start with the free game diagnosis or read why players get stuck at 3.5.

On the chiropractic side, I see players and non-players across Volusia County who want hands-on care that includes rehab and corrective exercise, not just an adjustment. Pickleball knee pain, shoulders, and low backs make up most of it. If you're hurt, mobile chiropractic is the place to start.
